We acknowledge and celebrate our presence on ancestral Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee land. We respect the longstanding relationships and treaties with the local Indigenous communities:
the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation and the Six Nations of the Grand River.
We are working to make truth, reconciliation, and education a part of our organization and events.

ABOUT US
In 1979 under Mayor Ann Sloat's leadership, a group of incredible volunteers started what has become the premier FREE event of the Ancaster community. Betty Fraser, James Pearson, Connie Pitz, Charlie Moss, & Viola Brennon brought the community together for a festival and sidewalk sale, and almost 50 years later we’re still doing it. In 2014 we incorporated under Ontario’s Not-for-Profit Corporations Act, and appointed a Board of Directors, corporate officers and an operating committee,
all of whom volunteer their time.
We thank all of our great sponsors who help to make this event a success each year. A special thanks to our title sponsor, StoneRidge Insurance Brokers. This local business has been a proud and committed partner of Ancaster Heritage Days for the past 10 years.
We're always looking for volunteers to support what we do. And we have different levels of participation that can work for everyone. Please contact us if you're interested.
